Thanks. I use a 55-200 mm zoom lens. I find that if I use the full mm focusing on the subject, the bokeh comes naturally.. of course that does not always work but it seems to a majority of the time. For this photo's and many recent ones, I don't even try to get bokeh anymore.. I was into that for a while but now I could care less if it happens.
A 70-200 f/2.8 will give you a huge jump in sharpness over your kit lens, and let you use faster shutter speeds and shoot in lower light since it has a much larger aperture, with a nicer bokeh. The Nikkor brand 70-200 is quite expensive, but you could get a Tamron brand version for less than half the Nikkor one.
